I got it!!!

My new friend. I can't wait to spend some quality time with you this weekend! (this picture is just one I found online. Mine is still in the box in the back of my car!)

I'm so excited! I have such a wonderful husband! This is just the motivation I need to get my rear end in gear and finish up my Modify Tradition Quilt!

Friday's Project

I made a this little quilt for my 1 1/2 year old on Friday. She has a bigger one which was actually my first quilt that I made. This one is made with the leftover fabric (Basic Grey's Sultry for Moda). She was lugging around her big one and constantly tripping over it, so I made her a small one that can easily be carried with her anywhere! I think she likes it! (measures 23" x 26.5")

Finally done w/ the Modify Tradition quilt blocks...well, kinda!

So I finally finished my Modify Tradition quilt blocks for the quilt along! I still have a lot of work to do, but the blocks are mainly done. Now, I'm planning on adding borders around each one to create different sizes. Then I also plan on making some small basic blocks to throw in the mix too. I LOVE this quilt and want to do something similar with my layout, but who knows if I'll be able to do it!

I'm doing another quilt along...

I haven't even finished my blocks for the Modify Tradition's quilt along (that's been over for weeks!) and now I'm starting another one! Well actually another 2! Modify Tradition is doing a round 2 and I feel like I can't miss out since I had so much fun with the 1st one!

...and now this! Rachel of P.S. I Quilt does such fabulous stuff and I LOVE pinwheels, so this seems like I can't resist! AND not only that....I won one of Rachel's giveaways and I received a layer cake, a honey bun, and a jelly roll of "Verna" by Kate Spain!!!! Can you even imagine my surprise when Christmas morning I opened our front door and found all that in a box! I had completely forgotten that I had won that give away and wasn't sure what I was receiving because she had said it would be something fabulous from Market. Boy was I surprised and extremely pleased! So I'm using the layer cake and Ikea sheets in beige and in white as the solids. (got that tip from crazymomquilts blog)

Hello Betty Retro is done!

Finally!! I finished this quilt! This was suppose to be a Christmas gift for my Mother-in-law, but it just never got done. Her birthday is in a little over a week, so it's now a birthday gift! Originally this was going to be a 9-patch quilt. I had bought 3 layer cakes and was making 9-patches. Well I wasn't too crazy about them. They were the 1st ones I've ever done, and I just wasn't diggin' them. Plus I was getting really tired of making them after 1 layer cake and when I knew I had at least one more layer cake to do, I decided on something different. This is what I came up with. The center of the quilt is quilted with a meander stipple stitch and then the white borders are all straight line quilted. And oh my did that take FOREVER!! This quilt measures 58"x68"

The back is completely pieced with my leftover 9-patch blocks and the rest of the layer cake. It's binded with Kona Chocolate Brown (I think that was the color!)

Doll Quilt

With the holidays and such, I've been limited to how much sewing I can do. Finally, the husband is back to work and the kidlet that is in school, is back at school. This past weekend I was able to finish up this little doll quilt I made for my daughter out of scraps. It measures 20" x 22".

This week I hope to finish a quilt that was meant to be a Christmas present and now is going to be a Birthday present for my Mother-in-Law. But I still have all my Christmas decorations up in the house (and the tree!) and I probably should work on getting that stuff packed up and put away before I sew...but we'll see!
