I decided to play along...
Amy's at it again hosting her wonderful Blogger's Quilt festival.
I love it because I always find new blogs to follow and get to see so many beautiful quilts.
It always inspires me too!
My entry is the Saltwater Taffy Quilt that I offered up for a silent auction.
You know, the one that earned the school a whopping $21
You can read all about that fiasco here.
Fabric: various from my stash
Pattern from Rachel of p.s. i quilt found on Moda Bake Shop
Oh, this is really lovely! Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful quilt, with wonderful fabric. I just read what happen why it's a $21 quilt. What a terrible thing! I know what it's like to make something for a silent auction and have it not bring in much. Once I didn't like the small amount bid on one that I donated to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which had great meaning to me; so I bid on it myself at a much higher amount and got to take it back home. You didn't even get a chance to do that. But you still did a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI just scrolled through a lot of your older posts. I love your quilts.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt! I can't believe the auction though - that's ridiculous! Thank you for sharing it here, where it will be very appreciated!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you featured this quilt because it deserves a lot of love. Remember, karma's a cranky ol' you-know-what. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, your quilt deserves some positive accolades - it's really beautiful!

ReplyDeleteOh Jen! I love this quilt!! And my heart aches for the story that goes along with it. You did an amazing job with your fabrics and quilting! hugs. Trish
ReplyDeleteLove the pretty colours in this quilt - you deserve much more than what happened in the auction story!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful quilt!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful quilt, lovely colours and fabrics. I remember reading all about the your story about its auction. Don't know how people can live with themselves doing things like that.
ReplyDeleteOMG. Beautiful quilt. Nightmare story. We just had a fundraiser at work and I remarked how cheap people can be when it comes to charity. I mean, come on, people, it's for charity, play fair!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is so pretty. I wish I had been camping out to bid on it!
ReplyDeleteI have tears ready to stream down my face over your auction experience! Makes me sick to my stomach that someone was that dishonest and all i can say is KARMA! What a beautiful quilt you made. I know we're supposed to makecthings, give them away and just let it go but wow, that's so hard sometimes and this is definiteky one of those times. Thanks for sharing your wonderful quilt and have a great day
ReplyDeleteOh wow. What a terrible thing to happen to such an amazing quilt. I hope that woman feels bad!
