wip

Just finishing the binding of this baby boy quilt. Another Navy wife had a baby a couple days ago and I knew I'd make her a quilt once I knew what she had. Just so happened I had bought this fabric if she had a boy, and that's what she had! I should finish the binding up today then I'll post more pics of the finished quilt in a day or two.

If you haven't already entered, my giveaway is open for a little while longer! I'll be drawing a winner first thing Friday morning! (AND WOW!!! 634 entries! You guys really want some AMH, don't ya!?)

"StarStruck"

Here's my mini quilt for Modify Tradition's quilt swap. Hope my secret partner likes it! Colors are from a Kona cotton Jelly Roll. The binding is something I had in my stash and the backing fabric is something I picked up from Joann's weeks ago that I fell in love with. Happens that it matched the front perfectly, so I had to use it! I hand quilted this which was a first and I really enjoyed it!
And, if you haven't done so already, enter my "SMS May Giveaway Day" goodies here!

"Sent with Love"

Commissioned quilt done! I like how it turned out and I think it's perfect for a little girl who was born on Valentine's Day! Made with Deb Strain's "Sent with Love" for Moda. Measures 44" x 56"

I need some suggestions.....

How should I quilt this? I think I'm going to add a little 1 1/2 inch border around it. But it measures 20" x 20" right now. Each one of those little squares are 1 3/4" finished to make 9  7" blocks. This is for a mini quilt swap. Typically I'd do the regular ol' free motion meandering, but I'm wondering if straight line quilting would look better. It's just so small I don't know how to do it! What do you think?  Any suggestions?? Please!

crochet baby blanket

This has been done for a while waiting on me to weave in all the ends of the yarn when I finished a skein. But now it's all done and ready to be sent. It's going to a fellow blogger who is pregnant w/ a little girl! I started this before she knew what she was having figuring it's an aqua color and would be appropriate for either a boy or a girl. The color is so hard to capture in a photo! It's called "Ocean Spray" by Naturally Caron in the Country yarn. It's so soft! (measures: 34"x39")

For the pattern and how I made this, see this post.

My first Mini Quilt Swap

I'm participating in my 1st quilting swap! Hosted by Modify Tradition. I'm excited. Should be lots of fun. Yes, I'm moving in 3 weeks...(can't believe it) and I'm taking on more projects! (can't believe that either!) But hey, anything to procrastinate prepping for the move, right!?

So, to my secret partner: my address info was given to Jennifer at Modify Tradition. Basically after May 28th, I'll have a new address. And as far as my likes and dislikes...I'm really not picky! Anything that is handmade especially for me will be cherished and loved! But I did create a mosaic to give you some ideas of what I like. I'm simple. I like classic, simple stuff with modern fabrics. I love Joel Dewberry, Amy Butler, Anna Maria Horner,..I could go on and on. As far as colors, I like 'em all! Told you I'm easy! Have fun making whatever you make and don't stress, I know I will love anything!
