May Giveaway Day!!

Sew Mama Sew is hosting their May Giveaway Day again! I haven't participated in the last couple ones and since I've been so absent from my blog lately, I figured I'd make this a good one! (well at least I hope you all think it's a good one!)
I'm giving away my "Love in a Mist" quilt!
It's been folded sitting in my crafting closet for about a year and I think it's time to let someone have it that will appreciate it!
This quilt measures 35"x39" and it's hand quilted!
I love this quilt, but I'm willing to part with it.
More pictures and the original blog post for this quilt can be found here.
(you'll have to excuse the 'fold' pucker in the middle. that's just from being folded in my closet for some time!)

How to enter, you ask?
Well...here are the rules:
One entry per person
and all you have to do is leave a comment. (Please make sure if you are a "no-reply" blogger that you leave your email address. If there is no way to contact you, I'll draw another person)
This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
IF you are so inclined...I'd love some suggestions on places to go and see in the New England area! We are packing up our travel trailer and hitting the road for the whole month of July to explore New England: Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire and anywhere else nearby! So if you know of a great spot to camp, visit, see, eat at, shop at, whatever...please share!
Giveaway will close May 25th 8pm EST/5pm PST
I'll randomly draw a winner after that. (oh and that should be interesting since with this new blogger change I lost my numbered comments!) ;)
Good Luck!

With that said, The quilt is so sweet and darling, I can see why you loath to part with it!

Ive been to the Ben and Jerry's in Vermont and it is pretty cool; I think there was a fish hatchery right next door too that we saw(I was probably 10 at the time so you might want to check into that one).

  64. I bookmarked the original post a while back - such a nice pattern. You're a bit too early for apples... well, Concord's nice even without the apples - lovely lake and woods and all that, you can see/learn things about the transcendentalists (Thoreau and friends) and Alcotts... I like it. Or, if that's not to your liking, there's always Six Flags New England...

  70. Well, seeing as I live in Massachusetts, I have lots of ideas for you! LOL! If you drink, the Sam Adams brewery tour in Boston is fabulous! So fun! And the fireworks in Boston are amazing...the best in the country - they are on the 4th every year. You also may want to check out the Museum of Science, The Aquarium, or the art museum. They are all incredible! In Maine, we love Wells Beach. It's a comfortable, family friendly beach and you can walk up to Forbes for lunch and you will not be disapointed! I also highly recommend The Maine Diner on Rt. 1. It's SOOO yummy! One of my favorite places! If you are in central Mass, there is a list a mile long of fabulous restaurants in Worcester! That's where I live! :-) I hope you have a great trip and thanks for this chance to win!

  104. Love the quilt!

I'm grew up in the Boston area, and I recommend the Swan Boat ride in the Public Garden, going to the NE Aquarium, the Freedom Trail walking tour (don't know how old the girls are. Combine history stuff (Paul Revere's house), House of the Seven Gables in Salem) with eating out (famous ice cream) and enjoying the scenery and beaches. There's a whale watching tour that leaves from Boston harbor. So much to see and do in NE-get on their state travel websites. Or the Boston Globe website--lots of ideas.

    Have a great time!

    ReplyDelete
  117. I live in New Hampshire and cannot think of a way to narrow down a few great places! We have wonderful hiking in the White Mountains, but if hiking is too much you should take the auto road up to the Mount Washington Summit. If you are looking for some less challenging hiking (Washington really is a long, challenge of a hike) let me know and I'll send a little list of hikes we have loved. The North Conway area is really nice to visit. Great quilt shops: in Henniker is Quilted Threads and in Center Harbor on Lake Winnipesaukee is Keepsake Quilting.
Will you go to the shore? There are great beaches, especially north in Rye. While you are at the shore you should visit Portsmouth (there is a quilt shop there as well), and there is a summer open theatre at Prescott Park, the performances there are usually pretty well done. You will love it here!

  138. That quilt is AMAZING! I am so impressed at your generosity!

I love New England! I went to college in Connecticut and Grad school in New Hampshire, and loved it!
In New Hampshire there is a great little town called Harrisville, that has an historic woolen mill. They spin their own yarn, and do weaving.
Woodstock Vermont is also a favorite - we stayed at the cutest B&B run by british ex-pats.... cant remember the name...
Eat Lobstah on the coast! Enjoy!

As for New England...there are so many choices! We live in midcoast Maine...right on the coast...which is beautiful and has some great hiking and camping spots. Of course, on terrific place is Acadia National park...about 1 1/2 hours north of us...definitely worth visiting!

    God bless,
    Laura

  167. this is so beautiful./ thanks for the chance to win this.

i would recommend my very favorite place, Prospect Harbor Maine. near(north of) Bar Harbor and several other small local harbors....there is the Winter Harbor lobster festivals and the Schoodic Arts Festival and a local Blueberry Festival all at that time of year. there are small beaches to explore as well as Acadia National Parks, Schoodic Peninsula. We go every year(since i was little, so forever) and it never changes much or gets old. i think you would love it.

  174. I'm a Mainer, and I'd say my favorite places to go are mostly in the Bar Harbor area. Bar Harbor is also near Acadia, so it's on the way! It's a bit of a drive, so I'd suggest stopping in Portland (namely the Old Port) to foodie out. Flatbreads is an amazing organic brick oven pizza place, and there are tons of lobster places along the water. For fabric, try Alewives (http://alewivesgirl.blogspot.com/). It's a little out of the way, but totally worth it.

  175. Oh, what fun to spend a whole month in New England (in the summer)! I grew up in Maine, and gosh, you can't really go wrong! I encourage you to drive up the coast on Rte 1, rather than getting on the highway, so you can see the communities. Eat lobster rolls every chance you get! In fact, eat one for me!! And if you have room for fabric purchases...I wasn't a quilter when I lived in Maine, but one of my Canadian blogger friends always hits Marden's when she is in Maine for great deals on fabric - http://www.mardenssurplus.com/. Enjoy your trip, and thanks for the chance to win this wonderful quilt - I can't believe you are willing to part with it!!!

I love love new England. You can't go wrong anywhere on the coast, but I highly recommend lake winnapasake (not sure that's spelled correctly) in new Hampshire...it's very quaint! Martha's Vineyard is another personal favorite, as were the Kennebunks in Maine! Happy travels!
