I'm a Winner!
I'm so excited! See that little "I heart Quilt Home" on my blog??? Well I was the lucky link-of-the-week winner in their latest Newsletter and I get $20 credit in their store!! Then I was stuck with the daunting task of figuring out what I want! So I finally think I know what I want....Anna Maria Horner's Good Folks Designer Sampler. Which is 1/8 yard cuts of all the fabrics in the line. I realize that 1/8 yr. cuts aren't very much, and then I was thinking...what can I do with that? But I'm so in love with this quilt and thought, just maybe I can do something like this with the sampler pack! I doubt I will even come close to Nettie's quilt because it looks so hard to me, but maybe just doing some frames on white will be nice.

My sister's quilt
Yay...she got it! I made this quilt especially for my little sis for her Birthday. I've had it done for a couple weeks now but couldn't post pics until she received it. She loves it and and I'm so happy. It's one of my favorites that I've done so far. Jelly Filled pattern made with Moda's Soiree

Well I was busy last weekend. I managed to finish 2 quilt tops. I normally don't like posting pictures of just the tops (I like to show off completed projects!), but I haven't posted anything in a while. And I also need batting, so it may be a while before I get these quilted!

Friendship Bag
So I tried to make Rachel's Friendship bag. It sort of turned out. Somewhere, somehow my measurements were off. I also think I discovered that all this time I haven't been actually doing a 1/4 inch seam. It's off just a hair. I thought this whole time I'd been using a 1/4 inch foot on my machine, and it's not! See...told you I'm new to all this sewing business! So I ordered a 1/4" foot for my machine. Now maybe, I won't have such a hard time! But the bag was so fun, easy and cute. I'm going to make more, my 5 year old daughter wants a "bright pink and black" one. This one I'm going to fill with candy for my sister. I don't think she'll mind the mistakes!
