  1. Yes, but it's so worth it. I love the striped fabric you're using.

  2. OMG! No kidding! I'm working on my first quilt and worked on a quilt along block that was posted on 'I'm just a guy who quilts' and I don't know how quilters do it. Sooo much cutting on just one tiny small square, rectangle, or triangle. I guess it must be therapeutic for some.

  3. Trimming falls in the "hate" column when I say I have a love-hate relationship with HSTs! It's worth it, yes, but still a PITA.

  4. It's all part of the process. Not just HST's but with any piecing - your trimming and squaring up will produce a much lovelier end piece. If you have a lot - do them in small groups rather than all at one time.

  5. I definitely hate it which is why I only sew/iron/trim a few at a time. Once I have a few finished, I put them up on the design wall and feel a tiny bit of satisfaction. Then I make a few more. It's not very efficient but it makes me happy...and that's what quilting should be when it can. :)

  6. I hate pressing a little bit more! Trimming is a pain but it makes a quilt sew together so easy... that's my motivation!

  8. I don't like it either...my ruler always shifts...and I mess things up. It hurts my hands and I'd rather skip it all together! =)

  9. I am in total agreement about trimming, but it does make the finished project come out so much better!

  10. Yes, trimming seems so bring and time consuming, but then I do love that there are so many distinct stages in making a quilt.
