So I tried to make Rachel's Friendship bag. It sort of turned out. Somewhere, somehow my measurements were off. I also think I discovered that all this time I haven't been actually doing a 1/4 inch seam. It's off just a hair. I thought this whole time I'd been using a 1/4 inch foot on my machine, and it's not! See...told you I'm new to all this sewing business! So I ordered a 1/4" foot for my machine. Now maybe, I won't have such a hard time! But the bag was so fun, easy and cute. I'm going to make more, my 5 year old daughter wants a "bright pink and black" one. This one I'm going to fill with candy for my sister. I don't think she'll mind the mistakes!

Soiree Quilt
A work in progress. Just about done with assembling the top. I need to get this done in about 1 1/2 weeks since it's a gift. Ya know, I have yet to make a quilt for my husband, my eldest daughter, or myself! Every one has been a gift so far! I did make one for you youngest daughter, just a small crib quilt. One of these days I'll get ones done for us to have to curl up with on the couch! (hopefully in time for Fall!) Giveaway drawing is on Monday for the crocheted baby blanket! To enter, leave a comment on the previous post! Have a great weekend!

Back from vacation...
What a wonderful trip we had to Oregon! We made it to Crater Lake for 2 days, then to Tugman State Park for 5 days, then to Bullard's Beach for 3 days, then Diamond Lake for a day. Decided to come home a couple days early since we basically camped for just about 2 weeks! Now today I need to unload the trailer and get started on the mountains of laundry that accumlated! Oh what fun!
I did give my friend her quilt and she loved it! It turned out so nice. I was rather impressed that I was able to quilt one that was bigger than crib sized!

Going on Vacation!
I did finish a quilt but I can't post pictures quite yet! It's a gift for a friend, but once I give it, I'll post the pics. We are leaving tomorrow for two weeks of camping in Oregon! I can't wait!!!! First stop, Crater Lake for 3 nights, then to the coast to camp at William Tugman State park between Coos Bay and Reedsport, OR for 5 nights. I'm am so excited because this is where I use to camp when I was younger with my family. Then we are just going to explore and see if there is somewhere else we want to camp for 3 nights or just stay put. Then after that, we are meeting dear friends from California at Diamond Lake, OR for our last 3 nights. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my husband falls in love with Oregon so we can retire there when he is out of the Navy. I'm talking it up plenty, so we'll see! Here's a sneak peak of the completed quilt. See you in 2 weeks!
