Here's my stash of IKEA fabric. I've received a lot of questions about the IKEA fabric so I thought I post something about it.
The "kid's fabric" is found in the children's/babies section of IKEA. It's usually in the corner or against a wall with all the bedding and curtains. Most comes grouped together, some are sold single. All are pre-cut in approximately 3 yard increments. I love them, and use them for quilt backs for baby quilts.
They also sell fabric by the yard which is usually by their curtains and rugs department. Most of their fabric is a heavier weight, like home decorator weight. Within all their fabric there are a few quilt weight fabrics. I only have these two:
Hope that help some when shopping for fabric at IKEA!
I LOVE Ikea fabric! I'll be posting about that today too! Got some for Christmas! :-)
ReplyDeleteI've never been to an IKEA...there aren't any around here. I passed a really large one in VA a couple times, but didn't have time to stop and look around. =(
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful prints!
IKEA is a fantastic source for fabric, especially home dec weight. Their cottons are a little thin sometimes, but if you look, you can find treasures. Another great IKEA source for fabric is their duvet covers. I find them at Goodwill for cheeeeeeep, and they're wonderful for backing quilts!
ReplyDeletei want some ikea fabric...the closest one here is about 4 hours away in all directions....you're soooo lucky!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been to IKEA in our area several times and I've never seen this kind of fabric. All ours has is very basic, stripes, checks, geo designs. I keep hearing about the great fabric at IKEA, but not all IKEA's seem to carry the same lines.
ReplyDeleteHey I think you are Stylin'!

I normally don't "do" these goofy awards, but I thought if I focused more on the content, and not necessarily the "award" I would be karmically okay. Anyway, I love your blog, because you are a fantastic navy wife, just like me, and have amazing talent as a quilter! I think its time your hubby got a transfer to Jax, so we can start our own MQG, :)
I think we should call it the NW (Navy Wife) MQG
